Hello people,
Today I got an email from the NLLGG (Dutch National LUG) about the upcoming
event HCC (http://dot.kde.org/1039221598/)
Because Linux has some momentum here in the Netherlands they were proposing to
unite all linux-related organisations in one hall (sort of pavillion). They
asked if KDE want to participate in such an iniative.
I said the usual, that we are non-profit and that we rely on the organizing
party if they will let us have a booth for free.
To be honest, I don't think the organisation of the HCC will let us have a
booth for free. I asked before, you need to be affliated with HCC-lugs
(subscription to their magazine) if you want to have some space there.
So I really like this event, it's huge and it attracts lots of people (mostly
just users). I replied to NLLGG that we are very eager to have a small booth
there and I was hoping that they would help us a bit (hinted it very
clearly). Also I'm willing to spend some money on it as well, but I would
also like it if KDE eV would help me a bit by paying some of the costs I
could have. Also I will sell the KDE-shirts (hell .. maybe I need some more
shirts by then).
I know KDE eV has a different goal, but tell me then where I should go with
these requests. Again I'm asking to help me cover some of the costs I could
have. Sharing costs would lighten the financial burden for me.
Your opinions please,
Fab
