What's interesting is that it isn't deemed worthy of front page news.

It's probably too late in this case, but opening channels with HP,
Sun, Ximian and Red Hat is certainly a worthy goal.  It would need
someone dedicated though.  Maybe even someone like ESR was for Open
Source.
