Hello all,

I've started the process of adoping maintenance of the promo site, and here
are some things that I am tenatively planning on doing there...

(1) Set up some guidelines for what is involved in KDE promotion, at different
levels. For example, lists of things people can do to just raise awareness
around them, and another list of responsibilities to get added to a list of
contacts for a region as a KDE Promoter or something like that.

(2) An online database of the people involved

(3) Asset Management - A system to keep track of who can print business cards,
who has fliers, who has posters, who can make them, who we've used to make
them before, who has a big stuffed Konqi, etc.

(4) Online Promo Material - Press Kits, Resources online for giving
presentations (KPresenter templates), printable brochures, KDE features
lists, "wow" lists (stuff that makes people go wow at conferences and talks),
roadmaps, scenario guides.

(5) Coordination of Events - Keeping track of conferences basically. Who's
going, who's the contact for it, where are they, when are they. This could
be extended to more local things, not just national ones, like LUGs that
someone is planning on giving a presentation to, meetings with businesses.
Setting up interviews with people, coordinating giving interview to media,
etc.

I realize that number (5) is handled by events right now, and hopefully things
can be coordinated with them, or perhaps even have it be a joint effort (I
think it falls under promo somewhat).

I am willing to work on all of these things, but I'm only one person. Also,
please look at this as a draft, comments and suggestions are _definitely_
welcome and wanted. We're also going to need people to step up and say, "I
can do X" and then commit to doing it.

I tacked the "North America" classifier on the subject because I'm under the
impression that promo related activities in EU are going fairly well as is
^_^.

Thanks,
Chris
