Hiya,

These types of releases are largely directed to get other developers to
join the project, so you would have to do it from a developer's point of
view.  

Now in a game, there are a number of developers needed, besides coders,
such as world/scene/sprite developers and art developers.

The one thing that really stands out here from other Open Source games
is they seem to have an excellent team or artists, which is certainly
something that might attract a developer wanting to work on an adventure
game.

Besides that you can have a look at the code and comment on how
well-designed it is (at least if you have programming experience).

Finally this game is already playable, and there are level editors /
etc., it is possible also perhaps to attact some creative types who
would like to create levels, battles, sprites, etc. if a review shows
that a beginner can jump in and contribute in this way.
