It appears that the KPIlot abbrowser conduit is in a usable state. Users
should now be able to sync their palm pilot to the KDE Address Book via the
Abbrowser application. As with any KPIlot conduit, you have to go into the
KPilot conduit setup page and drag the KDE Address Conduit into the working
conduits.

If you're paranoid (as you probably should be), backup all of your data
first. To backup your palm pilot, do a sync before using my conduit. You
can restore your conduit by using KPilot's restore function.

To backup your kde address book, cd to $(HOME)/.kde/share/apps/kab and copy
your addressbook.kab to a backup file (not .bak, since that's already used by
abbrowser). You can restore your address book by simply copying your backup
file over the hosed file.

You might want to go into the setup page for the conduit. The possible and
key features of the conduit are:

  - Smartly merges the address contacts from you palm pilot to your record
book. Currently, it matches on last, first name or company. If the records
can be merged without conflict, the merged address record will exist on both
the palm pilot and the kab db.
  - Allows for multiple deconfliction strategies if their is a conflict
merging.
  - Allows the user to specify what the the "Other" phone field is mapped to.
  - Allows the user to specify if the address and fax fields defined in the
palm pilot are for home or business.

Feature to come
   - Deconfliction GUI => the user will be able to choose which fields are
correct if an address conflict.

I am looking forward to getting feedback on bugs and general comments. Have
fun!
