Well, reading through the libical mailing list I found this mail reporting 
several leaks in libical:

Note that the mail was written in Dec 01, which the libical version that we 
use in kdepim was released in March 01 (yes, we WILL update to version 0.24 
after the release, but as 0.24 changed time zones considerably, that was 
postponed until after KDE 3.2).
