Because 1) that requires having the addressbook application up and running (or
starting it, which might well take 5 seconds) and 2) is a terrible waste of
resources opening a gui application for something where no gui is required.
Point 1) was one of the most annyoing things to me when syncing a palm with
KPilot in the past.
