Starting another addressbook isn't complicate - true. But integrating another 
addressbook to kmail _is_. Think of adding new contacts, selecting emails, 
autocompletition,...
If you write an libkabc-backend for your addressbook, kmail (korganizer, any 
KDE-app) can use it. Wouldn't it be cool if every KDE-app could use the 
benefits of your addressbook?
The only problem then would be, that klicking on "Addressbook" in kmail 
doesn't start your's. But that's something, you have to discuss on the 
kmail-mailinglist.
