Hi!
When traveling home from Linuxtag I had a lot of time to think about our
PIM-project. And I'd like to share some of my thoughts with you:
In libkabc I need 3 thinks to improve groupscheduling (one day). As there are
major changes in the addressbook, I thinks it's the right time to insert
these features.
* First a custom field (X-MICROSOFT-???) where the URL of one's freebusy-time
is stored. So looking for freebusy-time would be speed up a lot (by loading
it directly and not sending and receiving emails). And It would be compatible
with Outlook if we use the same filed-name.
* Second, the user should be able to mark/select one entry of the addressbook,
to set this one for "his" addressbook-entrys. This way KMail and KOrganizer
could easily share some settings (name-/email-/additional emails-settings in
KOrganizer wouldn't be needed for example). The KControl settings for
name/email wouldn't be needed anymore. KOrganizer could save its freebusy
publishing URL in this entry (and publish this vcard, see #3).
* Third is, that libkabc should be able to export one entry from libkabc as
vcard (even in the version used by Outlook). KMail should then be able to
easily send the users(/any) vcard.
What do you think about it?
ciao
