I don't like the name of the function tryLockFile(). lockFile() would be 
better, because that the function can fail is already know from the fact, 
that is has a return value, which can be 0. My original name 
requestSaveTicket() would make the purpose more clear, because it's about 
saving not locking. That locking is required is an an detail of the 
implementation.

I think before we can commit this to kdelibs, it has to be used in an 
application, e.g. kabc or korganizer/kpilot and the people working on kdelibs 
should have an opportunity to comment on it. I think, most of them don't read 
kdepim.
