First off, I would like to apologize for all your wasted time. As a
long-time computer user, I know how frustrating that is. As for your
specific problem, it is in fact a known bug. KPilot with 2.2.x is pretty
much completely b0rked wrt usb. As it seemed to be working for you with
2.1.x, you can either 1) regress your kdepim rpms back to that version or 2)
check the latest version of the kdepim module out of cvs use that. If you
are comfortable running alpha/beta quality software, and all you need is a
couple conduits and to backup/restore your pim, I would suggest 2. If you
depend on the conduits working, and are leery of compiling your own version
of stuff, I would highly recommend 1.

Hope that helps, and have a better weekend.....
