First of all: Libkmid was a good tool for me to avoid machine/soundcard
depencies. But I want more than playback. Also the users want more.
The "midi in" an "read from midi keyboard" is one of the most frequently
asked features.

It would take a long time for me to implement this because of the
many types and sorts of midi files (type 1/2, compressed/uncompressed).
Bear in mind: Till now I implemented "noteedit" alone. And I'm grateful
for any support from other libryries.

Are you sure ? It must work machine/soundcard independent, too.
I have neither the time nor the possibility to check it with all
sound cards.

Please read the TSE3 API! You'll see it is more than a simple
playback library. It has an internal Song structure. This way
it is possible to manipulate the midi data.
