It is actually not so bad with kdemultimedia. I am just reacting from having
to deal with an exploding number of kdesupport modules. If all KDE modules get
equally divided then you need to individually check-out 100s of modules, and
individually configure them and individually build them. The beauty of the
current system is that you can both checkout modules complete or in parts and
while they often require collective configuring you can build and install in
parts if you desire. If git equally gave the opportunity to collective build
large numbers of projects then it would be a lot less time consuming.
Right now, I am trying to randomly guess which order the new FIVE modules of
strige needs to be compiled in. There is no instructions, no hints, and you
need to checkout, configure, build and install each of them individually and
in the right order. Sigh...
