	Not difficult at all. I have a background that basically shows the earth 
from the vantage point of the moon which is updated by a cron script every 
five minutes. Here's one way you can do it:
1. Rewrite your script so that it writes a jpeg file to somewhere convinient, 
like ~/pics/chris_earth.jpg
2. Stick the script in a cron tab, updating however often you like.
3. Go to the Control Center -> Look & Feel -> Backgrounds
4. Select the "Wallpaper" note tab
5. Choose "Multiple Wallpapers" and then press the "Setup Multiple..." button.
6. A window titled "Configure Wallpapers" will pop up. Press the "Add..." 
button.
7. Go to wherever your picture is saved and select the picture (it helps to 
have something there in advance, first)
8. Change the interval period to however often your cron script runs. In my 
case, I have the interval set at 5 minutes.
9. Click all the necessary "Ok" and "Apply" buttons.
10. Enjoy!
