Go to the K menu -> preferences -> File browsing -> File associations.  
Edit the audio/x-mp3 mime-type, and add whatever filename types you want.

The way to test if it's working is to go into konqueror, and view your 
music files.  The way konqueror identifies what file type they are is the 
same as the way Noatun identifies them.
