Greetings all,

I want to illustrate some possibilities for action icons, and what better way
to do so than to create a KDE 2 theme. So I began work this evening and this
is what I came up with so far:

I'm still going through an iterative process with the color scheme, but it's
a start. Mostly I'd ask you to take notice of the copy and paste icons.
Clearly not perfect but they do "communicate" to me (poke poke) what they're
going to accomplish :-).

My goal is to devise an icon theme for all KDE 2 actions that make use of
just one color gradient per icon with subtle black and white tones for
contrast. Ideally, the color would complement a distinct shape while the
contrast would serve to add depth when it is needed.

The single color gradients, with black and white tones for contrast is
coupled with a "disabled" icon effect. The effect I use is colorize with
white at 100%, which results in a really smooth emboss effect which retains
the smooth shape of the icon and removes the black contrasts entirely. This
is really noticeable with the red X stop icon, which really "pops" when it
becomes enabled.

I like it anyway, :). This is fun. Sort of like customizing my 944 :).

Sean.
