I agree with John's point. It's the 'B' or 'b' that matter. People generally
don't care how much a 'k' really is - be it 1000 or 1024. Does 'm' stand for
'million' (1,000,000) or 'mega' (1,048,576)? I think most users don't really
care. A 56K modem transmits 56K bits (not bytes) per second, that's what confuses
people.
