I'm never sure what anyone means bu Kb, K/b etc these days.

I say Kbytes when I mean Kilobytes, Kbits for Kilobits.


Whatever you, the writers, may intend by the prefixes K and k, don't expect 
your readers to universally comprehend your distinction. Whenever it matters, 
make it clear.
