Ok if these advanced options can make the whole lot a bit "confusing" in 
some circumstances, why not place these advanced options on an advanced 
place ???
I mean if you want some advanced options in a menu just make a sub menu 
with "advanced". I think most beginners and inexperienced will be scared of 
the word and won't touch anything there (they'll understand these options 
are not important for them yet), however the experienced user will click 
and click there and have fun. Or something.
