That is so silly, I searched to find it source!!
Picture an application displaying a list. Select an item, another window
opens where you can display/edit employee details, a document, a chart of
the price movements of your Red Hat Software shares, whatever the
application does.
If you click the X in the subordinate window, do you REALLY expect the
application to close?
I say you* expect that window to close; you may also expect it to save (or
prompt about saving) any changes.
*you an arbitrary user.
