You can check Sawfishs KDE Integration module (aka
sawfish.wm.integration.kde / kde-int) here:

1) Is the KDE-Aboutdialog (Systemsettings -> Help -> About-KDE) somehow
callabe via kcmshell or qdbus?

2) What is the prefered default path for placing
ksm-windowmanager .desktop files?

$datadir/apps/ksmserver/windowmanagers/

or=20

$datadir/kde4/apps/ksmserver/windowmanagers/
