Does SuSE have a KDEArtWork package??

The missing link is: "kxsrun".

Instead of beating your head, read one of the 'desktop' files:

	TryExec=xscreensaver

Make sure that: "xscreensaver" is on your path:

	which xscreensaver

And make sure that you can run them with: "xscreensaver".

Then:

	Exec=kxsconfig <screen_saver>

	Exec=kxsrun <screen_saver> -- -root

See if you have the two executables: "kxsconfig" & "kxsrun" on your system.
