what about from terminal running "urpmi mdkkdm" or urpmi "kdebase"  at
least it will tell you whats there and what is conflicting then you can
urpme the offending packages.  Since you aren't worried about losing
anything, maybe just re-install?  If you have /home on a different
partition you wont lose much personal stuff anyway.
