I believe this is using xdmcp - if so you will need to edit your  
$KDEDIR/share/config/kdm/kdmrc and add

[Xdmcp]
Enable=true
Willing=/opt/kde/share/config/kdm/Xwilling
Xaccess=/opt/kde/share/config/kdm/Xaccess

To the end of the file.

You will also need to edit $KDEDIR/share/config/kdm/Xaccess and set it up to 
allow your host to connect. One way of doing this is to uncomment

#*                                       #any host can get a login window

I have no idea if this is secure enough for your network. The file is very 
well commented though and reading through it should help you make an informed 
decision how to set this up.
