It doesn't actually say that . It is clearly labelled as a qt option.
The qt options are generic switches for the qt sub-structure and -kde
options are generic switches for the kde base sub-structure.
Then there are "generic" options such as version/author/help and finally
there are the application specific options.
Look at konqueror --help-all ; kate --help-all to see. Only the generic
and app options have specific switches for the program in question.

The first two groups ( -kde and -qt) are generic switches that may or
may not apply to the program in question.

Which is not to say that there is not a bug; Just not the one that you
all think. -bg and -fg work only in pure X applications and at one
stage may have been active in qt (back in qt 1.x) If they no lomger
work in pure qt apps (and I dont think they do any longer) then they
should be removed from the qt options. Note to that -bg etc probably
work for any X console apps that run in a xterminal or konsole.

Anyhow we are in the business here of solving problems :-)
so lets get back to the cause. Bjorn wants to set his text and
background colours. Well this is kde so there are many ways.
For generic across the board colour change simply set the colours in the
kde control centre. For konsole you can set as many colour combinations
with different session-type names as tickle your fancy.
For kile you can use both templates and / or the syntax hiliting to
preset the bg and fg colours. Have a look in the setup menu though as I
wouldn't be surprised if it has other ways.
