This is a good question for the expert or newbie lists at linux-mandrake.com. 
This is a list for KDE users about how to use KDE tools.

Mandrake's "drakconf" is what you are looking for, in the Network & Internet 
section, DrakConnect, which can be opened directly as "drakconnect".

Using this tool you can change your LAN settings from DHCP to static ip 
easily. 

Or you can sit down with a book learn all about ifconfig, and a few other 
tools, which can be more flexible if you want to do something not covered by 
drakconnect.
