I've put online some instructions on how to run PSP 8 in Linux (and in 
KDE, which is what I use). I know GIMP is pretty good but some that were 
used to Paint Shop Pro 8 in Windows might want to take a look at this (or 
maybe it can be used to convince those windows users to switch :) I admit 
not everything works fully, but at least you can do most stuff (except 
apply text). The info is at:

I've got the info online but also in zip files for offline reading. I 
couldn't upload tarballs to fortune city for some reason. :( But you can 
always use 'unzip' them to extract them.
