Back from the weekend :-(

O.K. - They are really having fun arn`t they (Rogers). They are trying to
be too clever with security.
So it would appear Rogers have smtp and pop set up in their internal DNS
pointing to their smtp and pop mail servers.
As you have said, it works with netscape. Lucky that netscape and kmail
don`t do `sanity` checks on those entries. It`s conventional to do a
FQDN e.g. mail.rogers.com although roger.com would work with an extra DNS
lookup or an even an IP address (bypasses DNS for obvious reasons).

You need to clarify some things on the phone with them (fun, fun, fun).

1) Are they using smtp authorization (seems likely)
2) do they have a fallback (pop before send) for people that don`t have a
smtp authorization mailer (if not, why, they should).

Like someone said, the next version of kmail in March ? should have smtp
authorization.

Keep updating us with the results.

Regards...
