Hmmm. After several hours downloading more tarballs and a 24 hour compile,
the result is... no change! I removed all the RPMs and then deleted
/usr/lib/kde2 and various /usr/lib/libk* files introduced by 2.2 and then
recompiled. So, what causes the "--silent" parameter to appear?
