Ik ken de context niet, maar is het niet mogelijk dat float betekent
floating point getal, dus zoiets als drijvende-kommagetal (is een
(reëel) getal). Negative float zou dan zijn een negatief getal, free
float ???,
start float het getal dat het begin aangeeft en finish float het getal
dat het einde aangeeft.

Kijk zelf maar of dit je iets wijzer maakt :)
