According to the XML standard, all tags must have a closing tag. A tag 
like <br>, which stands on its own must contain this slash to be valid.

HTML has been a SGML language, where the rules are not as strict. The new 
XHTML is much stricter and doesn't tolerate missing end tags. I don't 
know which rules KSysv uses, but <br/> is valid XML/XHTML. And it's still 
not invalid HTML, just a bit strange ;-)
