Thank you all for your help.  As it turned out, I
was missing kde.mo file.  However, from the KDE
webpage on Internationalization I found only the
.pot file for kdelibs.  I compiled kdelibs.pot
into kdelibs.mo and renamed it to kde.mo and
copied to the LC_MESSAGES directory along with
kmines.mo.  My question, is there a kde.pot file
or is that the kdelibs.pot file?  Also, where
is the best location to get the latest .pot files.
