Message #7 in branch and trunk in docmessages/kdesdk/kate_fundamentals.pot 
reads:

Open the &kde; program menu by clicking on the big <guiicon>K</guiicon> icon 
on the toolbar at the bottom left of your screen. This will raise a menu. 
Move your cursor up the menu to the <menuchoice><guimenu>Applications</
guimenu><guisubmenu>Utilities</guisubmenu> <guimenuitem>Advanced Text Editor 
&kate;</guimenuitem></menuchoice> menu item.

However it should read as:

Open the &kde; program menu by clicking on the big <guiicon>K</guiicon> icon 
on the toolbar at the bottom left of your screen. This will raise a menu. 
Move your cursor up the menu to the <menuchoice><guimenu>Applications</
guimenu><guisubmenu>Utilities</guisubmenu><guisubmenu>Editor</guisubmenu> 
<guimenuitem>Advanced Text Editor &kate;</guimenuitem></menuchoice> menu item.

Note the added <guisubmenu>Editor</guisubmenu>
