i've added predefined statuses using different icons and containing 
explanations for them (because it is sometimes hard to understand icon 
meaning)

the thing is, i forgot about string freeze :)

so if there are objections, i'll strip i18nc() calls, leaving non-translatable 
english defaults (and the excuse will be that l10n module user can also 
communicate with speakers who don't know languages other than english
--btw we have the same problem with kmail templates)
