It seems not to be possible to automatically update the .pot in KDE 3,
the KDE version of xgettext doesn't work with python according to the
commit message Nicholas Goutte gave.

"You cannot extract Python files with KDE3's xgettext
(And in future for KDE4, you would need to be able to tell that they
are Python source file, which is currently not possible either.)"

I've updated the guidance.pot file in templates manually for now,
hopefully that doesn't break anything having python formatted strings
in there.
