Hi !

I am wondering how the choice of the flags is done in the contry selection 
(kcontrol) and in timezones.

In Country and Language, I saw french dependencies are shown with local flags. 

Is it a political choice ? As a french citizen I did not even know these flags 
existed. (St Pierre & Miquelon, French Guyane, Wallis, etc.)

In timezones, it seems to be the same, but much flags are missing (default 
flag).

Among them, I saw 
Thule has no flag.
Either put the danish's one, or put this one (Groenland local flag) :

No flag at all in Antarctica. I think local flags will be hard to find (except 
if penguins have some). Probably the national flags of the owners should be 
shown (Dumont d'Urville = France, etc.)

Belgrade has no flag.

Kerguelen Island, La Réunion, Mayotte have no flag = french flag should be 
used.

Kerguelen Islands seem not have a flag (http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/TAAF). 
Only penguins live there.
La Réunion has no real flag. Some people designed this one, but it seems 
nobody uses it : http://www.clicanoo.com/articles/article.asp?id=45539

Midway has no flag. US flag should be used (see 
http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/flags/mq-flag.html).
