Yes, that should definitely be "after". I think the whole string can be
cut down to

"<qt>Select this option to synchronize with the MAL server on every
HotSync that is at least a day after the previous MAL sync. To perform a
successful synchronization, you need to have access to the MAL server
during the HotSync.</qt>"

Cuts down on verbosity, too. So what to do about wrong strings like this?
It's not life-threatening, this one, but filing it away is sure to cause
it to be forgotten.

(Note to self: developer of KPilot is Adriaan de Groot, adridg@cs.kun.nl,
and can be reached directly most of the time, but he also reads i18n-doc
for the heck of it).
