Hi,
As I said I madea list of those things. I took some time and must say tht
reading every README is quite boring, but here it is, it should be complete,
but I just a non-computer, so if you find a missing app, than tell me.
One thing bothered me:
- the directory structure inall modules is so incoststent, that I was nearly
shocked.
- should not the sound files be stored in .ogg instead of .wav
- is bmp format allowable?
Apart from the apps on the list, which I attached in this mail, there are
numerous files that must be translated:
- *rc files, but not *.rc, only files ending with rc (eventsrc etc.) which
need translation of all Name[xx] and Description [xx]
- the same goes to .desktop files, most of them have not been touched by some
of translation groups, again all that is to be translated is Name[xx] and
Description [xx]
- rpm SPECS should be translated, I can write in another post how to translate
SPECS

["translation.list" (text/plain)]
kdeaddons/
knewsticker-scripts: i18n teams could put here headline backends for local sites (ex. \
linuxnews.pl for Poland)
konq-plugins/babelfish: this module could be redesigned so that it supported other \
translation site apart from babelfish (which supports only several languages). the \
translation team would provide 2 files: 1.) ADDRESS, which would contain the \
langugages and the address for each language; 2.) TEMPLATE.LN, where LN is the \
language number from adresses. It would contain a pattern which would be used by the \
parser to get the translation...
noatun-plugins/lyrics: this module contains lirycs plugin for noatun, at the moment \
it uses only one server, but the HEAD version probably supports chossing other lyrics \
servers, so i18n teams should ahve the possibility to add local servers, so that \
users could get lyrics even for there national artists
kdeadmin/
kcron: translators should read README.translators to find out what date & time \
patterns does kcron use
kdeedu/
kgeo/kgeo/pics/splash.png: contains English text, therefore qualifies for translators
khangman/khangman/data: *.txt filesm which contain words used in the game, should be \
translated
khangman/khangman/pics: several .png files contain English text, therefore qualifies \
for translators
klatin/klatin: lat_*.txt files, which contain vocabulary knowledge test definitions, \
should be translated
klettres: the i18n team should create two files letter1.txt, which is supposed to \
contain all of the files in the alphabet, and level3.txt which is supposed to contain \
a list of syllables that should be learned by the pupil first, so that he will not \
get dyslexia (it is best to ask a specialist)
klettres/sounds: this directory contains two sound directories with wav files 1.) \
sons containing sounds for the letters in level1.txt, named a-$line.wav (where $line \
is the line number in level1.txt for the corresponding letter) 2.) sons2 containing \
sounds for the syllables in level3.txt, named ad-$line.wav (where $line is the line \
number in level3.txt for the corresponding syllable); the best way to transate it \
would be making sons & sons2 dir in kde-i18n/xx/data/kdeedu/klettres and translators \
would put their sounds there
kmessedwords/kmessedwords: *.txt files, which contain definitions for this game, \
should be localized
ktouch/keyboards: i18n teams should create keyboard.xx, which should contain keyboard \
definitions for their language
ktouch/training: i18n teams should prepare typing lessons (in cooperation with \
specialists) and put them in this directory
ktouch/graphics/splash.png: contains English text, therefore qualifies for \
translators
kvoctrain: it would be very as nice as it is impossible to have a vocabulary database \
for every lang include in kde release, but nevertheless those i18n teams who have \
enough time could try doing this (!) kvoctrain has many readme files in german, it is \
no problem for translators, since most of us here at i18n-doc know German well enough \
too understand them, but I would recommend translating them to English
kdegames/
ksmiletris/data/pause.bmp: contains English text, therefore qualifies for translators
kwin4/grafix/default: gameover_*.png files contain English text, therefore qualify \
for translators
ktuberling/sounds: *.wav files contain English text, therefore qualifies for \
translators
kdemultimedia/
koncd/pics/startlogo.png: contains English text, therefore qualifies for translators
kdenetwork/
kdict: it should be possible for i18n team to choose different dict server than \
dict.org (for example a local server containg local dictionaries apart from those on \
dict.org)
kppp/DB/Provider: i18n teams should provide here net configruation definitions about \
the biggest internet providers in their country
kppp/Rules: i18n teams should provide here billing definitions about the biggest \
internet providers in their country
ksirc/KSOpenkSirc: in files servers.* server definitions for ksirc are held, the i18n \
teams should be given a chance to add local servers (for example there is no(sic!) \
Polish server in the list)
kdepim/
empath/empath_logo.png & empath.pics/empath_logo.png: contains English text, \
therefore qualifies for translators
korganizer/plugins/holidays/holidays: i18n team should place holiday definitions for \
their country here
kdetoys/
kaphorism/aphorisms: i18n teams should have the possibility to add their local \
aphorisms here
I hav ommited kdelibs and kdebase, because I do no believe that there could be any \
sound or other stuff to translate except pos
