You can use  ktranslator (I think version 0.1.0 is still in /pub/kde/Incoming)

There are some bugs I have not yet fixed:
-You can not write a file over itself
-You have to close it before open a new pot file.

Main features of ktranslators:
-Multi Language support (you can see how a msgstr is been translated in other
 languages
-Search in installed .mo files (.po files compiled) the current Msgstr (That
 I think  is what Vladimir needs..)
-....others (dwload it to see them ;-) )
