As you said,  « mot-dièse  » describes the form (a word with a hash) but
not the meaning: what is it for ?
This is the main problem I have with  « mot-dièse  ».

A hashtag is just a particular syntax for a tag (as found in Nepomuk
and then Dolphin, Gwenview and so on...). They are essentially the
same thing. So to me, there was no need for a new word.

I will keep using  « étiquette  » in everyday life.
