Actually I think it does :)

However, if there is a common format for vacbulary data it makes sense to 
offer an even higher abstracted layer, i.e. classes that can directly be 
transformed from/to XML.

I think it can be compared to the work done inside KConfig.

KConfig parses the config file but also offers higher level access functions 
for complex datatypes like QFont, etc.
