There is no KDE3_1 branch. 3.1 will be created from HEAD, and then I 
expect there will be a KDE_3_1_BRANCH made after release tagging. This 
is the way it is usually done.

What is needed is a decicion if you can get it ready in time for 3.1, 
and also how different is it from KGeo? If it is too similar, it really 
is not a good idea to have duplicate applications in a release. (refer 
to the ongoing cd-burning application discussion in the main 
development lists, and see what I mean)

Whatever is decided, it *must* be communicated to the Release 
Coordinator well in advance, and by that I mean as soon as possible.
