Yes, training is one thing but help/explanation is another thing. It seems
quite a lot
of work to do all that in one app. I don't agree with a common training app
and a separate
common help app, I don't think it will be attractive to pupils and teachers.

kdelibs provides already bigger fonts that we could use (I am a fan of big
fonts for young kids
apps...)

yes, the kid look has less menu items

yes
splash-screens are not used in KDE except for apps that take time to load

Yes, we already though of unifying that but it is difficult practically.
However,
some of the apps have now 2 modes: a kid look and a grown-up look. (KLettres
and KHangMan)
This cannot be applicable for all apps, for example Kalzium does not need
this.
Scoring system is a priority I would say. It is something that is badly done
at the moment.
We thought of the use of KFeeder via the kde-edu lib with different graphics
for each app.

You have quickly found out what needs to be done in KDE-Edu :)

KDE-Edu is not even 1 year old and when we started, we were not very
structured...
We now have a better understanding of the release process, of the KDE look,
of i18n,...
We now have feature plans for 3.1 and 3.2, we can even start a 4.0 plan.
If we can define practical objectives and integrate them in the feature
plans, then it
will be easier to fulfill them.
