Yes, I made that patch because I like the use of the KDockWidget's to 
partition space. They simplify and increases the flexibility of window 
management in KMail. As a side effect to partioning space they also have the 
usefull feature of makeing tab views in whatever why one would like.

I'd like you to keep in mind, as you think about things like this, that just 
because *you* don't use it one way or even see why it would be used that way, 
that others do not find it usefull, or use it 'that' way.

You should not be looking at things as "This feature is not important to me, 
and so it should not be available/included.", but "Does this feature inhibit 
my ability to use this software, and if so what can I do to work around it 
with the others that find it usefull."

Just IMHO.
