This isn't a "still crashes" situation.. it's an "also crashes" :-)  The 
cause is completely different from the openGL situation.  Okay, actually, I 
don't know exactly what the cause is but it's definitely not the same one as 
before.

It seemed that at least some of the plugins worked at first since I could 
verify the menu on the side.. but then they crash.  (guess) It appears to be 
in the communication between the forked plugin process and the embedded 
viewer.
