Subject: kde only compilable by root?

[Download RAW message or body]
current cvs sources.
Situation: I have KDE running as user wr and compile the latest
version in konsole as root.
/opt/kde2/bin/meinproc --check --cache index.cache.bz2 ./index.docbook
kio_bzip2: bzCompress returned 4
kio_bzip2: bzCompressEnd returned 0
The same thing does work when I do - as root -
su wr -c "same as abouve"
it also works if I do chown wr.wr meinproc;chmod ug+s meinproc
What is the recommended way to handle this?
Isn't it a bug that kio_bzip2 returns numeric error codes without
telling me where I can look up their meaning?
Wolfgang
