I don't think (at least in my case) there's a solution for using the auto-proxy,
FTP proxy without hacking my JS script, as the global script doesn't know anything
about the FTP proxy, it only returns DIRECT or http proxy. Or you need to get
the FTP proxy setting outside the auto-proxy script.

Let me know when you have something, so that I can test it (BTW I don't follow
kde-cvs list, so send me a mail on this list or directly to me).

Just because in the company where I'm working, there's no way to get direct
external connections. You must use a proxy to establish connection. This is of
course for security reasons. The FTP proxy allows you to work transparently
with remote FTP servers. Without this server, you wouldn't be able to issue
a "put" request (http proxy doesn't allow that, you can only browse and download).
The FTP proxy also has a cache system, that can be enabled/disabled with
the command "cd .".
