Sorry if this mail arrives twice, I seem to have problems with my mail
gateway:

Hi,

there's a problem compiling kdm against libXdmcp.a from Xfree 4.1. This is
not particularely a bug in kdm, I just wanted to know if someone has tried
this already and has come with a solution yet.

Kdms backend seems to rely on _XdmcpSetupAuth and some similar symbols (don't
recall them right now). These are normally defined in libXdmcp.a. However, I
have been unable to compile a version of libXdmcp that contains these
symbols. It _seems_ you need to just have a define like

#define HasXdmAuth YES

in the host.def file, but compiling libXdmcp with this define set fails
because a file called Wraphelp.c is missing. It's not in the directory yet
being referenced in the Makefile. I removed the dependency from the Makefile
and then the lib is compiled, however "nm" shows _XdmcpSetupAuth and friends
being unresolved within the library. So Wraphelp.c seems to be needed
actually.

I have temporarily solved the problem by copying over the old libXdmcp
from XFree86-4.0.3, but this is not a solution, of course.

regards,
	Matthias
