Hi Frerich,

I'm looking for a way to get involved with the KDE project, and depending on
how complicated KNewsTicker is, I might be willing to volunteer to do this.

I am a university student in 3rd year, presently doing a co-op term doing
Visual Basic programming. However, in my previous co-op term and in my
classes, it has been all C++ and C. I am also very interested in learning
Python and Qt or wxwindows. If I am given the chance to take this on, I can
probably contribute 2h/day most weekdays, and possibly 5h/day on most
weekend days.

Of course, in the beginning, I would probably email you about stuff I need
help with (such as the initial compile).

If we went this route, I guess it would be appropriate to have some kind of
"training" period while you are still the official maintainer and I just get
familiar with the source code and your development practises?
