You need to understand C++. I'm in a similar position, although several
months ahead of you. :P
I would recommend the O'Reilly book "Core C++" (or something like that) and a
copy of the "C++ Programming Language" by Bjarne Stroustrup. After reading
the first one (which is of managable size) you'll know enough to get into the
code. When you find a syntax you don't understand, look it up in the other
book. Don't, whatever you do, try to learn C++ from the Stroustrup book!
You'll damage something! It's the definitive reference though.
